Throughout history, humanity has always shown a natural instinct to express feelings, impressions and experiences through words. The same goes for Bram Stoker, who took on many roles: civil servant, theatre manager, progressive thinker, but above all a pioneer of the horror genre; a writer who with Dracula created not only a literary character, but also a myth. In the Irish novelist's 1897 work, the infamous secular figure of the vampire found its definitive literary form. In honour of the author of this classic horror tale, Montblanc created the Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker Limited Edition, emphasising how the fight against the forces of evil was driven by advances in medical science. Bram Stoker's superb description of Dracula's landscapes and appearance has, even today, the ability to leave the reader breathless. The Writers Edition captures this atmosphere of doom with the choice of colours for the hood and body, in which precious red and black resin are captivatingly mixed, an omen of imminent danger. Immortalized among the spiral motifs on the cap is the signature of Count Dracula's literary father. Inspired by the marks left by the vampire's bite, the ruthenium-coated clip elegantly tapers while recalling the shape of a historic Montblanc fountain pen clip. Two tracks on the clip's ring evoke the vampire's "bite marks." The shape of this writing instrument celebrates a milestone in medical technology, the Pravaz syringe, which is operated by a screw mechanism. Similarly, the decorative elements of the details echo those of a classic Victorian writing instrument, very similar to the one used by Bram Stoker to write his works. While the author didn't live long enough to witness the worldwide rise of his iconic character, he's the only one who deserves the honour of the Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker. In recognition of this achievement, an intricate embossed detail from the family coat of arms adorns the handcrafted ruthenium-coated Au 750 solid gold nib.
