When Caran d'Ache pens are born?
Caran d'Ache pens were born in 1924, as Arnold Schweitzer detects the "Fabrique de Crayons Ecridor" founded in 1915 in Geneva. He creates a new company and renamed it Fabrique Suisse de Crayon Caran d'Ache. The production was initially limited to graphite pencils, later evolved towards colored pencils and other writing instruments.

How Caran d'Ache pens started?
In 1924, Arnold Schweitzer detects the "Fabrique de Crayons Ecridor" founded in 1915 in Geneva. He creates a new company called Fabrique Suisse de and Crayons Caran d'Ache. Initially limited to graphite pencils, then production evolves towards colored pencils. In 1929, Caran d'Ache poses for the first time, a milestone in the history of writing instruments, launching the first pencil in the world with metal gripper mechanism : the Fixpencil ®.
Two years after the company revolutionizes the world of color drawing with PRISMALO ®, the first range of colored pencil with lead poster colors. In those years appear the first mechanical pencil Ecridor ® gold and silver, with hand engraving.
In 1952, Caran d'Ache creates the famous NEOCOLOR ®, the crayons and oil whose revolutionary design allows multiple applications. Later, it launched a version of chalk watercolor.
In 1970 the world of writing saw the light with the first fountain pen Madisonche, that completes the line of pencil and ballpoint pen produced by Caran d'Ache since 1953.
Since 1978, the Caran d'Ache's luxury lighters stand for mechanical perfection but also for its exclusivity and the accuracy of the gas tank, with reserve.
