Pelikan Maki-e Goldfish
The Pelikan Souverän M1000 Maki-e Goldfish is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship, combining the excellence of German technique with traditional Japanese art. Based on the iconic M1000 model, a mainstay of Pelikan's renowned production , this limited edition fountain pen stands out for its extraordinary decoration, made entirely by hand using the traditional Maki-e technique. The processing uses two of the most sophisticated decorative techniques of Maki-e: Togidashi-Maki-e, which creates a shiny and perfectly polished surface thanks to the use of successive layers of hand-polished lacquer, and Taka-Maki-e, which allows you to obtain three-dimensional elements and textures in relief using gold powders and thickened lacquer. The combination of these techniques, known as Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e, gives the decoration visual depth, brilliance and an extraordinary tactile sensation. The central theme is the goldfish (金魚), a symbol of luck, prosperity and sophistication in Japanese culture. The cap depicts a lively goldfish, while the barrel houses an elegant white fish with red details, both immersed in an aquatic scenery enriched by sinuous waves, floating algae and iridescent reflections created with the finest gold dust. Every decorative detail is the result of the meticulous work of a Japanese artist expert in Maki-e, whose personal signature embellishes the body of the pen. To complete the picture, the 18-carat gold nib with rhodium decorations ensures smooth and flawless writing, embodying Pelikan's tradition of excellence. Limited to only 123 units worldwide, the Pelikan M1000 Maki-e Goldfish is presented in a refined packaging made of Paulownia wood, a sacred tree in Japanese culture, a symbol of nobility and respect.
