Montegrappa Gladiator
After the award-winning Samurai (2018) and Viking (2019), Gladiator is a monument to the art of combat that travels further back in time – and closer to home – than its predecessors.


Organized for over 500 years, the Gladiator Games of Ancient Rome are steeped in myth and legend: its iconic fighters immortalised throughout history and in the worlds of literature, art, cinema and games.

Gladiator is offered in a non-plus ultra edition of 105 sterling silver fountain pens and five pieces made of solid 18-karat gold - a reference to 105 BC, when gladiatorial fights were first staged as a public spectacle.

The design of the editions follows the craftsmanship of the Warriors predecessors, with meticulously detailed armour and weapons, interactive pivot points, Power-Push fill, and whimsical mise-en-scène.

 In the silver edition, burnished trim is accented with yellow vermeil detailing to highlight symbols of power and strength, including figures of imperial eagles, lions, Mars, Medusa, and the Empire's SPQR emblem. The figure's articulated arms are complemented by a hinged visor – also in vermeil – that can be lifted to reveal the warrior's face. A studded leather skirt is mounted on the base of the cap, and a replica of the Gladius sword comes as a letter opener.

 An 8 mm nib (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1) wields the Roman coat of arms on 18K yellow gold and is once again complemented by our patented Power-Push filling mechanism.

 The custom packaging for Gladiator is inspired by the popular legend, with a 322 x 142 mm circular 3D model of the famous Colosseum in Rome serving as the backdrop for the edition. Display plinths for each component and a roll of vegan leather gear for travel also come with the edition. A hot-stamped outer box features the edition's logo and includes a schematic of the legendary Ancient Roman arena.
