Montblanc Masters of Art Pierre Auguste Renoir
Throughout history, many great artists have been able to translate the human experience through a universal language of form and beauty. The Montblanc Masters of Art Collection celebrates this eternal contribution to the pursuit of artistic perfection, a mission that Montblanc has always valued and supported. Among the most influential protagonists of modernism was Pierre-Auguste Renoir, whose talent and canvases bathed in light laid the foundations of a revolutionary movement: Impressionism. With respect and admiration for the innovative work of this great French master, Montblanc has created the Masters of Art Homage to Pierre-Auguste Renoir Limited Edition 4810. The edition draws inspiration from the artist, made of olive wood and embellished with touches of paint, almost evoking the creative gesture of Renoir himself. Not surprisingly, the painter would probably have appreciated this material tribute, as he was deeply attached to the centuries-old olive trees in his garden in the south of France, immortalised in many of his works. Renoir knew how to capture transitory moments and bring them to life on canvas through vivid tones and a quick, but precise, use of brushstrokes. A distinctive element of the edition is the golden clip in the shape of two brushes, a direct reference to the tools with which Renoir created both the minute details and the large surfaces of his canvases. The top of the cap is adorned with an ultramarine blue resin that envelops the Montblanc symbol, giving it a refined touch. The cap itself is engraved with the date 1874, the year of the first exhibition of the Impressionists, which officially marks the birth of the movement as an independent artistic movement. A further tribute can be found in the handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib, decorated with a delicate motif inspired by a folding fan adorned with two tassels. This element recalls one of the accessories often found in Renoir's paintings, especially in his introspective female portraits. Finally, the golden finish of the cone incorporates an Ag 925 sterling silver tip, designed to make sketches with precision and delicacy, in homage to the painter's mastery.
