Montblanc presents the third Meisterstück Around The World In 80 Days collection , which pays homage to another section of Phileas Fogg's travels. The collection, which includes the Resin LeGrand and Classique writing instruments, also with the Doué and Solitaire editions , and the Limited Edition 811, draws inspiration from Fogg's adventures and his thirst for exploration.
The Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection is inspired by Jules Verne's famous adventure novel "Around the World in 80 Days". The Classique fountain pen, decorated with dark blue precious resin, tells the epic journey of Mr. Fogg and Passepartout. On the last leg from Yokohama to London via the United States, the duo crosses the vast American continent by train. Contemplate the elaborate details: an elegantly laser-engraved train on the cap, a safety chain motif on the cone, which reproduces a rotating movement when Passepartout detaches the train from the locomotive to save the crew attacked by the Sioux. The cap design captures the locomotive's pressure valves and smoke, while the clip features the red lacquered ace of hearts, symbolising the union of Phileas Fogg and Princess Auda. In addition, the suits of the cards represent Fogg's bold bet to complete the journey in just 80 days. The top of the cap bears the embossed chronology of the journey: 36 days from Yokohoma to London, culminating in a total of 80 days around the world. To enhance this writing instrument, a handmade nib in 14 K gold engraved with 14/11, a tribute to the date of Fogg's departure from Yokohama, and 21/12, the date of his return to the London club to win the bet according to his ambitious plan. It is also decorated with the representation of a hot air balloon, a reference to Jules Verne's first adventure novel.
