Montblanc Victor Hugo 1831 - Writers Edition
Montblanc Victor Hugo 1831 is the limited series that Montblanc dedicates to the writer French Victor Hugo. Specifically, the 1831 series is produced in 1831 pieces to commemorate the year of publication of his best-known work Notre-Dame De Paris. In fact, Montblanc has paid a great deal of attention to the creation of this writing instrument, and you can see it from the many details that refer to the life of the writer.
The hood motif is inspired by the Gothic architecture of Notre-Dame Cathedral. The central rosette on the hood, which also develops on the body, recalls the huge rosette of the cathedral.
The two issues on the right and left of the clip are inspired by the novel Les Misérables; on the left "24601" represents the number that is assigned to the protagonist the first time he is imprisoned, on the right "9430" the number that is assigned to him the second time.
The shape of the cone is taken from the history of Notre-Dame de Paris.
The ring represents the chains of Quasimodo (as well as recalling a historic Model of Montblanc from the 20s).
The color on the cone is a clear reference to the "yellow passport" issued to Jean Valjean after his release. This document was mandatory for all former prisoners.
